RULES AND INFORMATION
REGISTRATION OPENS MARCH 1st, 2023.
Space is limited in all Baseball, T-ball and Softball programs, so be sure to register early. The registration deadline is April 10. After the registration deadline fees will increase $20.
There will be no practices or games the week of July 3-6.
Please request an appropriate t-shirt size for your child. We will not have extra shirts to exchange. Jerseys are sponsored by SCHEELS.
All baseball/softball levels will be based on grade completed as of 2022/2023 school year. Girls and boys will play together for T-ball and Rookies.
Team schedules will be email and posted online at wfparks.org by May 26. Team rosters will be assigned according to school attending, please specify the school your child attends or will be attending.
Individual and team photos will be taken by a professional photographer, with the option to order photo packages. Dates and times will be emailed and posted at wfparks.org in June.
On the first day of baseball/softball, teams will meet at their assigned field for evaluation days. During the first week T-ball and Rookies players will focus on skill development and the rules of the game.
Equipment
Players should bring their own baseball glove with them to practice every day. Bats will be provided. The West Fargo Park District highly recommends players supply their own helmet for hygienic reasons which can be purchased at a local sport good store. Helmets will be provided by the West Fargo Park District who do not bring their own. Helmets will not be provided for parent tot tball. All participants should bring a water bottle with them each day. Please label your child’s equipment with name and phone number.
“Buddy” Policy:
Each Participant may request one friend as a “buddy”. The buddy requested must also request you in order for the buddy request to be considered a match. All other requests (e.g. multiple buddies, buddy chains) will not be granted. Requests to play on the same team will not be guaranteed. Siblings are always buddied unless a specific request not to do so is made. When siblings are placed together, no other buddy request is granted. Childcare
If you are responsible for transporting a group of players, call the park office before April 3 at 701-433-5360. We will limit your players to be on two teams per level. If the childcare will have more than two teams, it will need to be approved with Allison (allison@wfparks.org). Only 12 players will be allowed per team.
Weather Cancellations
There will be no makeup games due to weather related cancellations. Please call the Information Line, 701-551-7138, for updates when there is unfavorable weather conditions.

PARENT/TOT T-BALL
This program is for 4-year-old boys and girls who want to have fun while learning the basic skills of baseball. Throwing, fielding, running bases and batting will be introduced. Parents will work hands-on with their child while being led by a qualified instructor. There will be a June and July session in the summer. The use of helmets is not required, but recommended. Helmets will not be provided. Participants must be 4 years old by the start of the program, no exceptions. Register according to elementary school they plan to attend in Kindergarten.

T-BALL
This beginner league for boys and girls focuses on learning the basic fundamentals of baseball. Qualified Park District staff will coach players on the proper techniques of throwing, fielding, running bases and batting. In this league, coaches will pitch three balls front toss to the batters and if the batter does not hit the ball after three pitches, a tee will be used.
The West Fargo Park District highly recommends players supply their own helmet for hygienic reasons which can be purchased at our local sporting good stores. Register according to elementary school they plan to attend in 1st grade.

ROOKIES BASEBALL
Rookies Baseball is for boys and girls. This fun, six week league focuses on advancing your skill development and using proper techniques while learning the game of baseball. In this league a soft baseball will be pitched to players. No final tournament will be played.

MINOR BASEBALL
The Minors Baseball league is for boys and focuses on improving skill development in a fun, recreational setting. Any level player is welcome to participate. Teams will be coached by qualified staff. A single elimination tournament (randomly seeded) will be played at the end of the season. The Championship Game will be played on the evening of Wednesday, July 20 at Young Field in South Elmwood Park.

GIRLS SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL
This league focuses on improving player’s skill in areas such as throwing, batting, fielding, defensive situations, running bases and sportsmanship. Players will have two evaluation days at the beginning of the league and teams will be formed the following week. FASTPITCH CLINIC
ALL SKILLS CLINIC

The West Fargo Park District is excited to partner with Diamond Academy and current and former collegiate coaches and players for this All Skills clinic. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Register by February 10 to guarantee t-shirt.
This two-hour all skills clinic offers instruction for defense and hitting. The focus will be on breaking down various areas of softball such as throwing, fielding techniques, and the swing. Players will break up into multiple stations where the instructors will teach you various skills. This is a great way to learn the game, improve on your knowledge, and increase your level of play on the softball field. Players will leave with a better understanding of their swing and the key fundamentals of great defense. Coaches will separate players based on age and skill levels.
Equipment needed: players will need to provide their own glove. Molded cleats can be worn on the turf. NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED.
PITCHING CLINIC
DATE: TBD if we have enough coaches for 2023
The West Fargo Park District is excited to partner with Diamond Academy and current and former collegiate coaches and players for this pitching clinic. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Register by Feb 10 to guarantee a t-shirt.
This one and a half hour pitching clinic will focus on key fundamentals and principles of the pitching motion. This will create a foundation to generate their best accuracy and speed. The goal is for youth pitchers to learn and understand the fundamentals of the motion. More experienced pitchers will focus on in-depth fundamentals primarily increasing accuracy and speed through leg drive. This clinic will also feature a strong focus on change-up and movement pitches. Coaches will separate pitchers based on age and skill levels. Pitchers need to provide their own catcher separate from one who is participating in the catching clinic.
Equipment needed: players will need to provide their own softball glove. Molded cleats can be worn on the turf. NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED.
PITCHING CLINIC

The West Fargo Park District is excited to partner with Diamond Academy and current and former collegiate coaches and players for this catching clinic. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Register by Feb 10 to guarantee t-shirt.
This one and a half hour catching clinic will focus on key fundamentals of receiving, throwing and blocking techniques. Catchers will have the opportunity to catch live pitchers towards the end of the clinic and implement what players have learned from their individual sessions. Coaches will separate catchers based on age and skill levels.
Equipment needed: players will need to provide their own catching gear and glove. Molded cleats can be worn on the turf. NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED.
