Frostival 2021: West Fargo

Frostival West Fargo offers activities for all ages and it is a wonderful way to get out and beat those winter blues. Some of the highlights include the Silver Snowflake Search, Movie on Ice, Coloring Contest, Volleyball Tournament and many fun activities.

SILVER SNOWFLAKE SEARCH – January 13-22

**All snowflakes have been found. Congratulations to our 2021 winners!**

Hunt for the Winter Days Silver Snowflakes for a chance to win one of four prize packages valued at least $775 each!

All four Silver Snowflakes are hidden in public locations, above ground, and within the city of West Fargo. The first clue will be posted on January 13, and then watch for additional clues daily until January 22. Rules and clues will be posted on wfparks.org and at Rustad Recreation Center by 9:00am daily. There are no snowflakes hidden in the indoor playground at Rustad Recreation Center.

AT-HOME SCAVENGER HUNT – January 14-22

Who is up for a challenge? We are doing an At Home Scavenger Hunt during Frostival!

Follow the steps below to be entered to win one of three $20 gift cards to Scheels! One entry per household. Contest ends at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 22. Good luck!

1. Find the 16 items listed below in your home.
2. Take a picture of the items together.
3. Post the picture in the At Home Scavenger Hunt facebook event page.

 

COLORING CONTEST – January 13-22
Entries for the West Fargo Park District’s 2021 Frostival Coloring Contest will be accepted on our Coloring Contest Facebook page until Friday, January 22 at 12:00 PM. If you do not have a printer, participants can Create A Winter Scene on any blank piece of paper! This contest is valid for children of all ages. Only one entry per child will be accepted. Two winners will be picked at random and will receive a $20 gift card to Scheels! Winners of the coloring contest will be contacted after the contest and announced on the West Fargo Park District’s Facebook by January 22. Please include child’s first name and last initial when uploading a picture.

FROSTIVAL TAKE + MAKE

Feeling creative? Looking for something new for Girls Night or a project to do with your child? Register for our virtual Take + Make class! This hands-on, indoor Frostival activity is great for all ages and occasions.

In the past, we have done these classes live through Zoom. However, to make it even more convenient for you, this class will instead feature a link to an instructional video, so you will be able to watch it at your convenience all throughout January!

Each Frostival themed “Let it Snow” shadowbox project is $25.

FROSTIVAL INDOOR VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT – January 16 & 17

Volleyball Tournament at Rustad Recreation Center
Teams will compete to win the title of Champions of the Frostival Indoor Volleyball Tournament. Registration is closed.

SENIOR LUNCHEON – January 21
The West Fargo Park District’s 2021 Senior Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, January 21, however some major changes have been made due the Covid-19 pandemic.
How to Sign Up
Participants must call 701-433-5360 to register, or stop in the office at Rustad Recreation Center. Please remember this event is for West Fargo residents who are 65+ only. Meals will be limited to the first 200 people who sign-up. All registered participants will be mailed a certificate to redeem for a meal at any Hornbachers deli. This certificate will be valid for a meal that includes two pieces of chicken, two sides and a beverage. These certificates will be mailed by January 22. Please allow for a few days for them to delivered, if you do not receive your certificate by January 27, please call our office at 701-433-5360.

We are optimistic we will be able to resume our traditional Senior Luncheon next year. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adjust the plans for 2021.

 

MOVIE ON ICE AT THE LIGHTS – January 23

Bundle up and join us at The Lights for ice skating and a movie! Frozen II will be playing during this special session of Open Skate.

$5.00 Skate Rentals are available in the warming house. Bring in a non-perishable food item to be donated and get $1.00 off your skate rentals!

Participants are required to practice social distancing and wear a face mask in compliance with NDSmart guidelines.

There will be two time slots available: 2:30PM and 4:45PM. We will be allowing limited people at each showing. Register each person that will be attending. Please sign up for one time slot only.
