MISSION
The West Fargo Parks Foundation is dedicated to supporting the Park District in the development and enhancement of parks and facilities, as well as to assist in providing recreation opportunities for the residents for present and future generations.
VISION
- Appeal to donors and assist in raising funds and receiving property.
- Develop and enhance Park District programming for all people, regardless of age, abilities or financial status.
- Assist in fundraising efforts for capital improvement projects for parks and facilities that will benefit the entire community.
LEADERSHIP
HISTORY
The West Fargo Parks and Recreation Foundation was founded as a non-profit partner for the West Fargo Park District and fueled by the energy of civic leaders whose efforts are directed toward the betterment of the community of West Fargo. The purpose of the Foundation is not a replacement of tax based services but to use funding to fill the gaps that municipal funding may not provide.

HOW TO DONATE
CHARITABLE GIFT GIVING
Our legal title is West Fargo Parks and Recreation SOS control ID# 0003004385 as a corporation – nonprofit – domestic. Any gifts for project needs, or endowments are federally tax deductible. Cash gifts may qualify for up to a 50% deduction of your adjusted gross income with a possible carry over, applied within five years. State of ND residents and businesses may qualify for a 40% tax credit on a West Fargo Parks & Recreation Foundation Endowment of $5,000 or greater, with a possible excess credit carryover of three years.
Unrestricted
An unrestricted donation ensures your gift makes the greatest impact. With an unrestricted donation, you enable the West Fargo Parks and Recreation Foundation to take advantage of unique one-time opportunities that would not otherwise be possible. Your investment will preserve our natural resources and make the parks a more welcoming place for the entire community.
Designated
Is there a program, park, trail or facility that has special meaning for you? Is there a certain activity you really enjoy? We will work with you to ensure that your donation is invested in what you value most. Gift of Time/In-Kind
Put your talent, passion, and energy to use in the parks. Whether you’re by yourself or with a group, the West Fargo Parks and Recreation Foundation has ongoing and short-term volunteer openings for many interests. From tree planting, park patrolling to flower garden adoption and more, you’ll find plenty of ways to give back, and feel good doing it.
Donations may be dropped off in person or mailed to the West Fargo Park District Administrative Offices located inside the Rustad Recreation Center, 601 26th Avenue East, West Fargo, ND 58078.
PLAY FORE THE PARK GOLF TOURNAMENT
Grab your clubs and join us for the second annual Play FORE the Parks, a fund-raising event for the West Fargo Parks and recreation Foundation. Tee Time will be at 12:00PM with a shot-gun start format. Limited to the first 36 teams to register. This event is open to participants ages 21+.

GIVING HEARTS DAY
Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour fundraising event for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Since the first event in 2008, generous donors have given more than $138 million, 100% of which goes directly to participating charities. We invite you to join the West Fargo Parks and Recreation Foundation for our first year with the fundraiser!
