Ages 7-9 & 10-12
This course will explore the chemical process involved with everyday activities! Kids will learn how to test household items to determine their acid/base properties, as well as indulge in the chemical processes behind cooking. These science-driven students will leave with a better understanding about chemistry in the everyday world, as well as a delicious bag of scientifically made ice cream!
Ages 7-9 & 10-12
This course will target observational and problem-solving skills to analyze their investigative powers and try to solve a case! Students will dive into the importance of forensic science and experiment with fingerprinting and DNA extraction!
The West Fargo Park District has partnered with the West Fargo Fire Department to bring you a youth science class about this burning topic! Through demonstrations, experiments, and discussion, participants will learn about different types of fire, the fire tetrahedron, flash points, and fire safety.
Ages 4-5 & Adult, 6-8 and 8-11
This class will explore marine biology and the science behind our oceans. Students will learn about the different ocean zones, arctic animals, and sharks!
With the assistance of the West Fargo Police & Fire Departments, we are thrilled to offer this program to prepare your child to stay home alone. Topics covered will include safety expectations, accident prevention and emergency planning. Each participant will receive review questions and an emergency magnet to personalize with their family after the class. Parents are encouraged to join the last 15 minutes of Home Alone Safety to ask questions and view a fire extinguisher demonstration.
Themed holiday recipes will be used to create delicious food ranging from baking classics to fun and innovative treats! Participants will learn the basics of kitchen safety, proper food handling, and food preparation in these single session classes. Each session will make two to three different recipes. Allergy Alert: This class may use wheat, milk, eggs, peanut, tree nut, soybean, fish, or shellfish ingredients.
