Ages 4-5 & Adult
Children are inherently curious! Through this preschool program, encourage discovery and help jump start your child’s interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at an early age. Each adult/child class will feature process-based activities. STEM Explorers will learn through play, experiments, and trying something new… and more than likely trying it again! The attending adult (mom, dad, grandparent, sitter, etc.) must be 16 or older. Please register by child’s name.

As the next level to our STEM Explorers class, students will learn all about a chosen core curriculum within STEM and will be given an experiment to push the boundaries of their critical thinking and expand their knowledge behind science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Who says you need an oven to bake? Some of the best recipes are those that require no baking at all and will leave everyone asking for more! Seasonal and themed recipes will be used to create delicious, sweet and savory food, ranging from baking classics to fun and innovative treats, with no oven or stove needed! Participants will learn the basics of kitchen safety, proper food handling, and food preparation in these single session classes. Each session will make two to three different recipes. Allergy Alert: This class may use wheat, milk, eggs, peanut, tree nut, soybean, fish, or shellfish ingredients.

Ages 6-12
In this class students will learn about what it takes to be a good botanist. We will discuss the importance of seeds, roots, flowers, leaves, tress and much more! The process of photosynthesis, and other scientific reasonings will be explained through fun experiments and activities. By the end of the course, students will be sprouting with the knowledge of an actual botanist.

Ages 8-12
The West Fargo Park District has partnered with the West Fargo Fire Department to bring you a youth science class about this burning topic! Through demonstrations, experiments, and discussion, participants will learn about different types of fire, the fire tetrahedron, flash points, and fire safety.

Ages 6-12
Discover the wonders of the human body! As a class we will dive into the areas of the heart, lungs, brain, skeletal system, and more. On the last day of class students will step into our “operating room” which will allow them to put all they have learned about the human body to the test as they perform their own “operation”.

Come along as we venture into the world of the animal kingdom. We will be discussing the ‘cycle of life’ as well as different animal habitats and the science behind the classification of animal species!

Ages 4-5 & Adult
This class will teach kids about proper hygiene techniques to prevent getting those nasty, itty-bitty germs as they learn about what germs are, how they spread, and how they can be prevented. Along with learning about good hand washing practices, kids will also participate in fun learning activities and experiments related to health and hygiene.

This class will take you out of this world! Students will be completing fun, scientific activities about space. From the solar system and planets to our little green friends on mars, students will be blasted off into the science behind our galaxy far, far away!
