All youth camps are offered during the summer!

Beehive Camp

Ages 7-12

Have you ever wanted to learn more about bees? At the Red River Valley Fair, campers will go through stations to build and paint wooden beehives while a bee specialist teaches them all about the insect and their habitat! Campers will meet at the Fair Information Building located near the Schollander Pavillion to begin and end the day. A gate admission fee is not required, and a t-shirt and snacks will be provided. If your participant has food allergies, please e-mail leah@wfparks.org. This camp is offered in the summer only.

Camp-A-Day
Adaptive Recreation

Grades 1st-8th

The Camp-A-Day Adaptive Recreation Program is for youth with developmental disabilities. Campers will be provided with recreational activities, including crafts and field trips.¬† The Park District provides transportation for the field trips, however, it is the parent’s responsibility to arrange transportation to and from Camp-A-Day. All participants must have a current IEP from the school district and complete the Application for Special Needs. This form will be available online or at the park office and should be turned in with the registration form. This camp is offered in June.

Junior Chefs Camp

Ages 6-12

This four-day cooking and baking camp will feature hands-on training and recipes to create delicious foods. Campers will learn about kitchen safety, proper food handling and food preparation. The food groups and basic nutrition will also be covered. Each participants will receive a book to take home with all the recipes they made throughout the week on the last day of camp. This camp is offered in the summer.

Home Alone Safety Camp

Ages 9-14

With the assistance of the West Fargo Police Department and the West Fargo Fire Department, we are thrilled to off er a new program to prepare your child to stay home alone! Topics covered will include responsibilities, safety expectations, accident prevention and emergency planning. Parents are asked to stay for the first half hour of the camp to help with emergency planning and to discuss reasonable expectations. Please watch for additional details and important information to be emailed the week prior to class.

Red River Valley Fair
2-Day Camp

Ages 7-12

Are you ready to explore the Red River Valley Fair? Each day will be PACKED with various activities including backstage tours, project making, entertainment and more! The camp will include annual favorite attractions and feature new entertainment from Johnny Rocket’s Cycle Circus, Bugology, I-Flip, Agri-Puppets, and the Dollipops. Campers will meet at the Fair Information Building located near the Schollander Pavillion to begin and end the day. A gate admission fee is not required. During this rain or shine camp,two t-shirts and daily snacks will be provided. If your participant has food allergies, please e-mail leah@wfparks.org. This camp is offered in July during the Red River Valley Fair.

Video Game Design Camp

Ages 9-18

Come learn how to design your own video game at Video Game Design Camp! In this camp, we will use powerful game creation software to build a role-playing game (RPG). Students will lay out their maps and levels, build their heroes, give them awesome powers and skills, conjure some monsters, program their quests, and write their own epic story! We’ll not only learn the start of video game design, we’ll also dive into many more advance features! No previous game design experience is necessary for this class. Please e-mail leah@wfparks.org.
