Tennis Court Locations
A lighted, outdoor, 6-court, tennis complex is located at West Fargo High School, 801 9th St East. This complex is available for lessons only. Two indoor courts are located at the Veterans Memorial Arena, 1201 7th Avenue East. Recreation Tennis Courts are located at Herb Tintes Park, 131 6th Ave E, West Fargo.
Tennis Lessons
- Tennis lessons are held at the West Fargo High School tennis courts.
- Tennis lessons will be held in the Veterans Memorial Arena (1201 7th Ave E) in unfavorable weather conditions.
- When lessons are moved to the arena, a sign will be posted at the outdoor tennis courts.
- Participants need to provide their own tennis racquet.
- Tennis balls are provided.
- The Tennis Carnival will be held in place of lessons.
Tennis Lesson Skill Levels
Participants should sign-up according to their skill level rather than their age. After the Pee Wee level, ages listed are guidelines rather than requirements. The Park District reserves the right to move individuals to another class if the one they are in has a low attendance.
Pee Wee (ages 4-6)
Class is for the youngest tennis players who want to play
tennis. Tennis racquets will be provided. Parents are welcome to attend. Players must be age 4 or older.
Beginner I (ages 7-10)
Students learn basic tennis skills including forehand, backhand and serving. Emphasis on easy to learn games and drills.
Beginner II (ages 11 & up)
For players who completed beginner I. New techniques taught with games and drills that are taught in Beginner 1.
“USA Free for ALL” Tennis Carnival
Date: Offered in summer.
West Fargo High School Tennis Courts
Join in a day of tennis fun and games! Enjoy a variety of tennis activities and win prizes. This event is for boys and girls of all ages and skill levels. You do not need to be in lessons to attend. Event is FREE!
This program is offered in the summer.
