Honkin’ Haulin’ Hands

The West Fargo Park District is hosting the 8th Annual Honkin’ Haulin’ Hands on Trucks on Sunday, September 21st from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Arena parking lot. Get into the drivers’ seat of over 25 trucks, tractors and construction equipment including a crane, snow plow, grader, pay loader, street sweeper, fire truck, Bobcat skid-steer, 18-wheeler and much more. Barrel car rides will be available. The first 200 kids will receive a free t-shirt. Youth will also receive a personal driver’s license. This is a rain or shine event. This free event is sponsored by West Fargo Park District, City of West Fargo, Butler Machinery and Luther Family Ford.

Spring Art-Mania

The West Fargo Park District is hosting Art-Mania on Sunday, May 18th from 1:00-3:00pm at the Veterans Memorial Arena.  Be creative, get messy and have fun while making several works of art with a spring theme! Learn new art techniques while experimenting with watercolors, paints, chalks and pastels. Other art projects will include wood art and fun craft items. This free event is for youth 6 to 12 years of age.

The Veterans Memorial Arena is located at 1201 7th Ave E, West Fargo.

West Fargo Park District 2014 Matching Funds Available

The West Fargo Park District is pleased to announce the availability of the “Matching Funds” program again for 2014 with $20,000 available for the 50/50 matching funds program. The initial application deadline is set for March 1, 2014. After this date, applications will be reviewed and submitted with recommendation to the West Fargo Park Board for final approval and award March 12, 2014.

To be eligible, all submitted requests for funds must involve projects which are on West Fargo Park District property. All projects considered must be accessible to public use Requests for annual program operation funding is not eligible. A Second RSVP Bone Builders Exercise Class has been added!

Due to the increased participation, Two Bone Builder Exercises classes will be held at the Vets Arena on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginning on Tuesday, November 5th classes will be held at 8:45-9:45am and 10:00-11:00am.

RSVP+ ND invites you to take part in Bone Builders, a FREE exercise program for adults that strives to work against the negative effects of osteoporosis. By doing some simple weight training individuals can protect themselves from osteoporosis related fractures by increasing muscle strength and bone density. Ongoing classes will meet twice weekly at locations in your area. Veterans Memorial Pool Update

New Pool Design

The West Fargo Park District would like to clarify the future plans of the Veterans Memorial Pool (131 6th Avenue East).  The pool closed on July 24th.  A complete rebuild will begin in August 2013 with a new facility scheduled to open June 2014.  The new pool facility will be built at the current location and will include features such as zero depth swim area with water playground, water slide, and lap lanes.
