The principle purpose of the West Fargo Park District’s Internship Program is to assist students in making an effective transition from the classroom to the professional world. It is designed to give students the opportunity to explore the parks and recreation field and discover where their interests lie. For more information, please read the Internship Program handbook.
Applicants should have good customer service skills, ability to work independently, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and confident with handling money. Applicants should be able to follow food safety guidelines and other park policies. Evenings and weekends will be required for this position.
Pay scale $8.00 – $10.00 per hour.
Coaches will be responsible directing team practices (with assistance) and directing all aspects of play in games for youth in grades 3rd-5th. During matches, coaches from each team will take turns officiating the game. This youth league is on Tuesday and Thursday nights, February 20-March 29 from 5:30-7:30pm. Practice will be on Tuesday nights and games will be played on Thursdays. Conidates must have knowledge of volleyball rules and some volleyball reffing experience.
Pay scale $10.00-12.00 per hour.
Must have or are currently playing or officiating volleyball and be familiar with High School and USA Volleyball standards of play. Coordinator is responsible for having all the equipment ready for league play in a timely fashion (balls out, nets set at correct heights, schedules and score sheets prepared, etc.), managing officials and making sure they are on time for work, ensuring timely play, record scores timely, return equipment to storage and perform light cleanup of play area. Ability to explain and interpret league rules (provided) is required. Additional duties may include collection of and manage team payments as needed and contact captains with important league information, ensure all rosters and waivers are complete and filed accordingly and interact with players, officials and spectators in a respectful and cooperative manner. Must be able to work 6:30-10:00pm on Wednesday evenings from February 14-April 11. Must be 18 and older to apply.
Pay scale $12.00-20.00 per hour.
Referees must have or are currently playing volleyball or refereeing volleyball and are familiar with high school rules and USA Volleyball standards of play. Individual will be required to deal with the public on an on-going basis in the role of referee (players and public). Officiate volleyball games in a fair manner. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of volleyball rules. Interacts with players, league coordinator and spectators in a respectful and cooperative manner. Works closely with league coordinator and ensures player and spectator satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and league coordinator. Must be able to work 6:30-10pm Wednesday evenings from February 14-April 11. Must be 18 and older to apply.
Pay scale $15.00-20.00 per game.
